These terms cover using DataFinery.io, buying dashboard exports and subscribing to Pro. They are between you and Rhea Prokop.

The service

  • DataFinery turns a spreadsheet you choose into an interactive dashboard, entirely in your browser.
  • Previewing a dashboard is free. The preview carries a watermark.
  • You can buy an export: a single HTML file with the dashboard, without the watermark, that works offline.
  • Or you can subscribe to Pro, which includes unlimited exports while the subscription lasts, and larger files: any Excel sheet, up to 1,048,576 rows and 150 MB. Very large files depend on your computer’s memory, since everything happens in your browser.
  • Pro also lets you save the data that matches your filters as an Excel or CSV file, the dashboard as a PDF (through your browser’s print dialog) and each chart as a PNG or SVG image.
  • Every dashboard starts with the charts DataFinery picks. Switching charts to other types comes with Pro, or once you’ve paid for that dashboard’s export; adding your own charts comes with Pro.
  • You don’t need an account. Pro subscribers sign in with a link we email them; there’s no password.

Price and payment

  • The price of an export is shown before you pay. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged: the price shown is the full price.
  • Payment is taken by Stripe. Stripe emails you a receipt.
  • One payment covers the dashboard you are working on: you can download it again, and after changing filters or editing it, until you open another file or sheet.

Pro subscription

  • Pro is billed monthly or yearly, at the price shown before you subscribe, starting the day you subscribe. No VAT is charged (we are not registered for VAT).
  • It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, until you cancel. If we change the price of Pro, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you prefer.
  • You can cancel at any time from “Manage subscription”, which opens Stripe’s customer portal. Pro then stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and isn’t renewed. Payments for periods that have started aren’t refunded, except where the law requires it.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while and Pro stays on meanwhile. If it can’t be collected, the subscription ends.
  • Exports you downloaded while subscribed are yours to keep after the subscription ends.

Immediate delivery and your right of withdrawal

An export is digital content delivered as soon as you pay. Before paying, you are asked to confirm that you want the export delivered right away and that you understand you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the download starts. We record that confirmation with your payment. If you live in the EU, this is the agreement your consumer rights require for immediate delivery.

Pro starts as soon as you subscribe. Before subscribing, you are asked to confirm that you want it to start right away and that you understand you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once you first export with it. We record that confirmation with your subscription. If you haven’t exported with Pro yet, you can withdraw within 14 days of subscribing by writing to hello@datafinery.io.

If you paid but the download didn’t work and you can’t get it to work, write to hello@datafinery.io. We will help you get the file, and if we can’t, we will refund the payment in full.

Your data and what you share

  • You must have the right to use the data in the files you open.
  • An exported file contains the rows you exported. You are responsible for whom you send it to. We never receive the data (see our privacy page).

Automatic cleaning and charts

DataFinery cleans data and picks charts automatically. It shows what it changed and lets you switch fixes off, but it can get things wrong. Check the dashboard before you rely on it or share it.

Liability

We provide DataFinery with care, but as it is. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any export is limited to the price you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
